Hello again and thanks for stopping by my web log.
My name is Eric Johnson, I am with Eric Johnson's Furniture. I make high end, high quality reproduction furniture. I also build custom furniture, but with an eye towards 17th and 18th century furniture designs.
Here is a picture of one of my latest projects.
To see and read more go to the photo gallery section.
This cupboard was built for a very nice family in Virginia. I really appreciated this commission because Johns mother and father commissioned my very first corner cupboard. Anyway, this cupboard was both fun and challenging, and I hope that John and his family will enjoy it for many years to come.
As a side note. They asked for an entertainment center to house their new flat screen TV. I felt that it was important to make it so that it can be used as an armoire when the future TV's are different and won't work in a cabinet such as this.
I want to take a moment here and say a few words about my photographer. I knew early on that if I wanted to show my furniture in the best possible light, I would need a good photographer. I was very lucky because I found one not more then 5 minuets away. His name is John Anderson and his company is On the Spot Photography. www.onthespotphotography.com His bread and butter is weddings and portraits but he also spend a lot of energy taking art photos. He has some amazing flower pictures. Anyway, when I need a large piece like this cupboard photographed I'll give him a call and usually the next day he comes by with all his equipment and sets up a photo shoot. He is very professional and I always feel that he goes above and beyond the call of duty. I am very grateful that he is the one I call when I need something photographed.
Well, I better sign off for now. I am working on a small Queen Anne document / jewelry box. I hope to have it on the web log before too long.
Till then.
Eric Johnson
